湖南维新运动中的移风易俗

On Transforming Social Traditions in Motion of Hunan Modernization and Reform

维新变法时期,湖南维新资产阶级知识分子利用《湘学报》、《湘报》揭露了缠足、吸食鸦片、蓄留辫子等封建恶习给人们带来的种种危害,大力提倡移风易俗,并身体力行,成立了不缠足会和延年会等风俗改良团体,在当时湖南产生了一定的影响。

In Wu Xu period,with media as Xiang Xue Newspaper and Xiang Newspaper,intellectuals who supported reforming in Hunan disclosed a variety of damages that those pernicious habits of feudal society brought to people,such as foot-binding,smoking opium,wearing long pigtail,etc.They advocated to transforming social traditions,tried to practice by themselves,and founded some organizations to transform social traditions,such as Organization of Loosening Foot-binding,Organization of Prolonging Life,etc,which had certain effects on Hunan at that period.
