The Role of Government in Private Higher Education Development

民办高等教育的公共性决定了政府在民办高等教育发展中具有不可推卸的公共责任。当前政府应基于法定的职责和民办高等教育管理中存在的问题,扮演好支持者、规划者、资助者、监督者和服务者的角色,为民办高等教育健康发展提供良好的生态环境。

The public character of private higher education determines that governments have unshirkable public responsibility in private higher education development.On the basis of its statutory duty and consideration of problems in private higher education management,current government should play a good role as a supporter,a planner,a sponsor,an overseer and a servant,in order to offer a good ecological environment for the healthy development of private higher education.
