Green economy is the general trend of global economic development, which is the inevitable path for the sustainable, scien- tifie and harmonious development of China＇s economy and society. It is the effective way to solve a series of the worldwide problems such as the energy security, environmental protection and climate change. This paper briefly introduces the current situation of the bas- ic concept of green economy and China＇s power grid development and the challenges. The profound impact of green economy on power industry development, power supply structure, power demand level and distribution. Power grid development planning is analyzed in detail. A series of measures is put forward and play a positive role in improving the energy utilization, adjusting reasonably renewable energy ratio and optimizing the construction of synchronous interconnected power grid.
