Based on analysis of the communicative and narrative language o2 the "autistic" protagonists in two recent award-wining novels, this paper suggests that the distinctive linguistic choice of "autistic" protagonists is reflected in the following five aspects: unintentional non-cooperation and unintentional impoliteness in conversational in- teractions; mathematic logic in narrative language; over-inclusiveness in the description of sensory experience and difficulties in understanding metaphoric language. These linguistic features in both novels contribute to the projection of a distinctive mind style, which, to a certain degree, enables a successful characterization of the protagonist as someone with communication and socialization difficulties, and helps to strengthen people's general perception of autism-spectrum disorders.
