The Unity of Respect for People's Rights and Encouragement of Noble Sentiment—— Inspiration of Red-flag-channel Spirit

马克思主义与优秀的民族文化传统相结合,产生出当代中国的民族精神。红旗渠精神就是民族精神的具体体现。红旗渠精神除了包含已被公认的"自力更生、艰苦奋斗、团结协作、无私奉献"之外,还含有"为了人民,依靠人民"和"实事求是,尊重科学"的内涵。在新的历史条件下,我们可以从4个方面创造性地丰富和发展红旗渠精神:发展民主法治,构建"为了人民,依靠人民"的制度保障;培育民间经济和民间社会,构建"为了人民,依靠人民"的现实基础;以保障公民权利为前提,弘扬艰苦奋斗和无私奉献精神;以契约精神为基础,弘扬团结协作精神。

Combination of Marxism and fine cultural heritages of the nation bring about the Nation Spirit of contem- porary China. And Red -flag -channel Spirit is a model of Nation Spirit. It has been widely accepted earlier that Red- flag- channel Spirit includes self- reliance, hard work, unity and cooperation as well as selfless dedication. Besides, it also contains the ideas of ＂for the people, relying on the people＂ and ＂seeking truth from facts, respect for science＂. Under the new historical conditions, Red - flag - channel Spirit can be enriched and developed crea- tively in ways as belows ： to establish democracy and rule of law which constitute a system for the people and relying on the people;to foster civil economy and civil society as foundation of such a system;to encourage hard work and selfless dedication to which protection of rights is a prerequisite;to promote unity and cooperation based on spirit of contract.
