民办高等教育要以特色求发展

The Development of Private Higher Education Depends on its Characteristics

办出特色是学校生存发展的必由之路。在需求日益多样化的社会,民办高等教育突出特色是教育发展提高的要求。从一定意义上讲,特色体现出教育质量,特色也标志着办学水平,特色还呈现出生命力。民办高等教育的办学特色的含义主要包括三个方面:一是学科专业体系要有特色;二是人才培养模式要有特色;三是管理机制要有特色。真正的办学特色还是一个动态发展的概念。对于民办教育,特色不仅仅是生存的保障,更是发展的基石,是实现全面协调可持续发展的重要保证。所以,民办高等学校一定要走特色发展之路,要不断地创新,以特色赢得不断发展的空间,力求实现跨越式发展。

Distinctiveness is essential to the survival and development of a school. In the present societywith an increasing variety of needs, private higher education is required to stress the distinctive features tocater to the improvement of the whole education. In a sense, distinctiveness manifests quality, and symbo-lizes the levelof administration. Distinctiveness also embodies vitality. Its meaning consists of three aspects:to set up a distinctive disciplinary system; to create a distinctive training mode; and to establish a distinctiveadministration system. Ideal distinctiveness is dynamic. Private higher education should not only take dis-tinctiveness as a guarantee, but also take it as a stepping-stone for the further development. Private schoolmust make efforts to strive for distinctiveness,only with which can it expand the scope of opportunities forfurther development.
