Confucius’assertion of‘just and harmonious beauty’,‘inspiration, exception, communication, complaint’,‘comparison of goodness’and‘with elegant manners’helped form his literary and artistic view of the essence, the function and aetheics of literature. His literary and artistic view has exerted its influence on the value, artistic taste, and aesthetic pursuit of many scholars of different generations. It also forms the literary tradition of China.
