On Austen’s Feminist Consciousness in Her Novels

英国著名女作家简·奥斯丁是十八世纪文学界的杰出代表人物。她对女性问题进行了高度的现实主义探讨。她对以前男性作家笔下的男权视角和某些观念进行反驳,从女性的视角讲述女人自己的故事。本文重点通过简·奥斯丁的小说中的社会背景、女性形象、前卫的婚姻观小议其作品中体现的女性意识。

Jane Austen is a prominent figure in British literature, whose specific complexity makes her works profound and enduring. This paper focuses on her awakening of feminist consciousness in her novels. This paper attempts to represent the feminism consciousness, namely, the pursuit of self-respect, indepen-dence, equality and freedom through analyzing the social background, different female characters, and the forward-looking views on marriage of the heroines.
