Ren is a very important part in ancient Chinese philosophy, as well as in the philosophy of Wei Yuan.Wei Yuan well inherited the Song and Ming Neo-Confucianism and consequently built a more profound foundation for the views of Ren with the natural world as the source. Ren, as the core of humanness, is the goal as well as the product of a thorough study, so that it is undoubtedly rather inno-vative.
