合作翻译视阈中的赛译《水浒传》评价

An Interpretation of Pearl S.Buck's Translation of Shui Hu Zhuan from the Perspective of Cooperative Translation

为了更好地向西方读者推介和传播中国文化,赛珍珠选择了与龙墨芗合作来翻译《水浒传》;而龙墨芗为使《水浒传》走向世界,欣然助译。长期以来,评论界一直没有从合作翻译的视阈来审视赛译《水浒传》,使得译作中的很多现象,尤其是涉及译作中的一些误译问题,一直无法得到科学的解释。文章拟从合作翻译的视阈出发,通过剖析赛珍珠和龙墨芗合作翻译中的各自分工、翻译过程及利弊得失,旨在对赛珍珠与龙墨芗合作翻译《水浒传》的实情进行解读。

To better promote and spread Chinese euhure to the Western readers, Pearl S. Buck purposely selected Mr. Long Mo-xiang to work with her while translating Shut Hu Zhuan, one of the Chinese literary classics; as for Mr. Long Mo-xiang, to introduce and spread Shut Hu Zhuan to the rest part of the world, he answered happily to take the post of a translator＇s aid. For long, relevant critics have never looked at Buck＇s version of Shut Hu Zhuan, namely All Men Are Brothers, from the perspective of cooperative translation, which results in the fact that till now many phenomena in the translated works, especially some mistranslations, have failed to get sound and scientific explanations. Based on the perspective of cooperative translation, this paper analyzes the division of labor between Buck and Mr. Long, the process of relevant translation, both its advantages and disadvantages involved, in order to interpret the truth of the cooperative trans- lation of Sbui Hu Zhuan as mentioned in the above.
