The paper analyzed the rhetorical meaning of discourse by means of pursueing its microstructure——the phonetic feature, vocabulary and sentence structures. It is pointed out that a discourse may convey its semrhetoricel meaning through its microstructure. This study helps the works of better reading, comprehension and appreciation of varied English works.
