The FDI Prospective Development After Signing ChAFTA

中澳两国自贸协定于2015年12月20日正式生效,标志着两国经贸关系进入崭新阶段。当前,两国间的投资虽具备一定规模,但在资金总量、产业多样化等方面仍未达到应有水平。可以预计的是,中澳自贸协定生效后,两国间的对外直接投资(FDI)将迎来一个快速发展的高峰期。而随着双边投资关系向纵深发展,亦难免会出现一些争议和摩擦,双方应该通过进一步地开放与发展,寻求可达致"双赢"的解决方案,才是两国经济可保持繁荣发展的长久之道。

On the 20th Dec 2015, the Free Trade Agreement between China and Australia began to execute. It symbolizes the closure of the negotiation which takes over a decade and a brand-new start which is significant for the bilateral trading relationship. In the current situation, despite China and Australia＇s bilateral foreign direct investment （FDI） has reached a level, in terms of the capital mass and industry diversification yet to reach full potential. It is expected that the two countries＇ bilateral FDI will accelerate into a new phase after the execution of China-Aus FTA. However, differences and conflicts may emerge while the bilateral relationship moving to the next phase. The both parties should aim to find a win-win plan by further opening up to maintain the prosperity for both countries.
