The Great Recession and the financial crisis of 2007-09 call for a fundamental transformation of the economic theory.Indifference to and rejection of social reality by the mainstream economic theories,along with the consequent misleading of both the public and policy makers,reveal three of its serious flaws:perfect prediction and coordination,ad hoc'shocks'as the cause of economic variation,and superioity of equilibrium and omnipotent marketplace.This kind of procrustean framework reflects their innate predilection for methodological and theoretical precision over real-world accuracy.The only way out of contemporary economics lies in a return to reality under the guidance of Marxism.
