摘要
以Halliday系统功能语法的人际功能为理论框架,试从语气系统、情态系统和评价系统三方面对英文警察告知语篇告知语篇进行分析,并归纳警察讯问告知话语所体现的人际特点。研究结果表明:从语气系统的角度看,英文告知语篇使用的是说明式的陈述语气+疑问语气,最大限度地保护被讯问人所享有的基本权利。从情态系统的角度看,低值情态动词地使用广泛,体现了民主立法的原则,更加人性化。从评价系统的角度看,"情感"评价手段的缺失体现了英文告知语篇机构性话语的特征;"判断"评价手段中"能力"资源的使用保障了被讯问人的合法权益,拉近了讯问双方的人际距离,体现出"无罪推定"的刑事诉讼观。
Based on the interpersonal function in Halliday ＇s systemic functional grammar, the English Police Caution is analyzed from the aspects of Mood system, Modality system and Appraisal system with the aim of exploring its interpersonal meanings. Results show that： from the perspective of Mood system, the declarative mood？and？interrogative mood used in the police caution is conductive to protect the basic legitimate rights of the person questioned. From the perspective of Modality system, the use of Low value modal verbs demonstrate a more humane and democratic legislation principle. From the perspective of Appraisal system, the frequent application of Capacity resources in Police Caution narrows the interper-sonal distance between the police and the person questioned, reflecting the transformation in police ＇s interrogation practices.
