Do relationships really help in getting a good job?

运用中国家庭住户收入项目调查数据(CHIP),实证分析"关系"这一寻职途径对寻职效率和寻职效果的影响。在控制性别、年龄、政治面貌、婚姻状况和受教育年限等其他影响寻职效率和寻职效果的因素之外,研究发现,在我国,利用亲戚好友帮助等"关系"进行寻职会增加寻职者的寻职时间、降低劳动者的工资水平和工作满意度;反而正规寻职途径对提高劳动者的寻职效率和寻职效果更有帮助,这一结论对重新认识我国鉴于"人情型"社会的寻职途径具有积极意义。

Chinese household income survey（ CHIP） is used to analyze the influence of relationships on the efficiency and performance of job searching. After controlling the factors such as gender,age,political affiliation,marriage,years of schooling,we find out that informal job-search ways（ i. e. through relatives and friends） have a positive effect on job-search time and negative effects on both wage level and job satisfaction. Therefore,the formal pathways to jobs should be more helpful to improve the job-search efficiency and performance. The conclusions of this paper have positive meanings to recognize our relationship society again.
