In the test of steering characteristics in central area of vehicle steering wheel, in order to make the test personnel deeply understand the significance of the steering characteristic index of central area, and solve the problem of how to deal with the steering characteristic index of central area. Combined with years of experience, summed up the steering characteristics evaluation index definition, this paper summarizes the influence of typical index value on the driver＇s subjective feeling, through the use of Origin software, to complete the steering characteristic index data processing. To quantify the steering characteristic indicators, automobile test personnel can describe the test vehicle steering characteristics of central area through the objective test data and subjective feeling of driving, providing the design suggestions for automobile chassis development engineers, improving vehicle handling stability.
