A Summary of Studies on the Tangut Costumes

通过对近二十年来相关西夏服饰研究成果的整梳,分析了西夏服饰研究的特点和存在的问题,探讨了未来西夏服饰研究的方向。西夏服饰研究经历了从宏观上的图像资料描述、文化因素的探讨,再到对细节深入考证的阶段,在取得了一定的成果的同时,也存在一些问题。另外,西夏遗存的服饰资料不多,必须拓宽研究思路,对已有资料进行多角度、多方法的系统研究,尽力将文物、文献的历史价值发挥到极致。

The author collated the results of the study about the Tangut costumes in the past twenty years and analyzed their characteristics, then pointed out the problems existed in some of the past works. In the end, the author discussed the future direction of the study about the Tangut costumes. The research about Tangut costumes has gone through from the description of the image data in the macroscopic view to the discussion of cultural factors and then to the further research on the details. Some achievements have been made, but there also exists some problems such as the dating of the Tangut costumes. In addition, there is not much information left about the costumes of Tangut, it is necessary to change the thinking of the study, and reconsider the usage of existing materials from multiple perspectives, so that we can make full use of the historical value of cultural relics.
