Revaluation of the Contemporary Values of Traditional Chinese Culture

中国传统文化的当代价值主要表现在:文化认同得以重建的基础;文化自信得以确立的根据;抵御外来文化同化的"盾牌";扭转"礼崩乐坏"局面的法宝;马克思主义中国化的土壤;弥补西方文化局限的资源;预防现代性弊病的"免疫剂"。中国传统文化当代价值得以凸显的历史契机主要在于:一是从现代性到后现代性的时代维度的转换;二是对过分否定传统文化价值之偏执的反拨;三是从"西学东渐"到"东学再西渐"的转变;四是对马克思主义中国化实质再认识的需要。

The contemporary values of traditional Chinese culture are mainly embodied in seven aspects, which include the basis of rebuilding cultural identification, the basis of the establishment of cultural confidence, the sheher against the assimilation of foreign cultures, the effective weapon of reversing the situation of ＂moral degeneration＂ , the soil of localization of Marxism in China, resources of compensating for the defects of western culture, and immunity against ills of modernity. Traditional Chinese cuhure can reveal its contemporary values mainly through the following four points： the transformation from modern time to post-modern time ; the rejection of denying the value of traditional culture, the change from eastward transmission of western culture to westward spread of eastern culture ; the need to rethink the essence of localization of Marxism in China.
