The “Libertine” Figure and the Concept of Knight-errant in Tang Poets

唐诗中的很多"轻薄儿"形象,其身份已不是传统的贵胄公子,而是活跃于通都大邑的游侠少年。诗人继承了《轻薄篇》的批评精神,借"轻薄儿"之名,对游侠少年的一些失当行为进行了批评。这一现象,为完整认识唐诗人的游侠观念提供了重要参考。

Identity of many ＂libertine＂ figures in the poetry of the Tang Dynasty is not the traditional nobles＇ son, but the young knight-errant active in metropolis. The poet inherited the critical spirit of Qing Bopian, and criticized the improper behaviors of the knight-errant in the name of ＂libertine＂. This figure provides an im- portant reference to full understanding of the knight-errant image in Tang poets.
