Motivating Students to Read in the Content Classroom: Six Evidence-based Principles

阅读是英语教学中一个重要的环节,通过阅读不仅可以扩大学生的词汇量,同时也可以了解到一些背景知识和文化。但有些学生对英语阅读没有兴趣,这直接影响到了他们的英语学习,因此老师应该想方设法激发他们的阅读兴趣,带动英语课堂教学。

Reading is an important part in English teaching. Not only can students enlarge their vocabulary by reading, but also they can acquaint themselves with some background knowledge and culture. But some students don't any show interest in reading, which has a negative effect on their English study. Therefore teachers should try hard to motivate students to read in class and drive the whole class to study English.
