Bringing Our College English Teaching Back to Life:A Personal Perspective

大学英语课堂应该突破传统的教育模式,即那种把语言拆解成符号,拆解成语法,列举大量脱离生活脱离情景的例子,进行大量机械的练习的授课模式。必须让生活呈现于课堂,让课堂尤其我们的语言课堂回归于生活。让学生在思维的碰撞中、在经历的分享中、在幽默的言语交锋间、在每一言每一行中,在不可预期的问题中探索这个世界并掌握英语这个语言工具。

College English teaching should abandon the traditional model which views language as separate symbols and grammatical rules.The focus in such classes is on listing large amounts of unrelated examples and practising in a mechanical way.College English teaching should be brought back to life:allow the students to explore the world and at the same time master English during the process of exchanging ideas,sharing experiences,exploring unexpected questions and engaging in humurous battles of wits.
