定语欧化现象究因

Attribute Europeanization and its Reasons

英语定语与汉语定语虽有相同之处,但不同之处却很明显,翻译时若忽略此点,照搬原文的定语表达,不考虑汉语定语的使用习惯,势必造成译文中定语的欧化现象。文中对《廊桥遗梦》中的欧化现象进行抽样调查,发现其定语欧化问题较为突出,在对欧化定语进行分类的基础上,从英汉定语结构异同及译者主体性两方面对英译汉过程中定语欧化的原因进行了初步探讨,提出了英语定语的翻译策略。

There are great differences between Chinese attribute and English attribute.The ignorance of this in translation will result in attribute Europeanization.The statistic method of sampling survey is employed to investigate Europeanization in Zi Zhong-yun's Chinese version of the novel The Bridges of Madison County.Examples of attribute Europeanization are then listed and explained from two aspects:the differences of Chinese attribute and English attribute on the one part and the translator's subjectivity on the other part.Based on that,some translating strategies are proposed for the translation of English complex attribute.
