《瓶中手稿》四个译本的对比研究——兼论语言学在文学翻译中的积极作用

Comparative Studies on Four Chinese Translation Editions of Ms. Found in a Bottle:On the Positive Role of Linguistics in Literary Translation as well

《瓶中手稿》是爱伦·坡最有名的短篇小说之一,在美国收到了非常高的评价,也使爱伦·坡声名大震。特此选取国内常见的四个译本,从语言学视角对其进行分析和对比,并提出如下观点:第一,适当运用句法学知识,能够帮助译者有效而正确地理解原文;第二,译者以辞典释义为依据,在原文语境中选择适当的含义,不能一刀切;第三,在准确理解原文的前提下,译者要勇于打破原文语句的束缚,才能翻译出地道的译文。并由此得出结论:恰到好处地运用语言学的相关知识对文学翻译实践有着积极作用。

As one of Allen Poe's best known short stories,Ms. Found in a Bottle received high evaluations in America,and won great fame for him. Four of the common Chinese versions are chosen and analyzed by means of making comparisons. The following viewpoints are presented. First,using certain knowledge of syntax properly can help translators comprehend the original article efficiently and correctly. Second,translators must select a proper meaning of a word given in dictionaries and then make adjustments when translating it into the target language according to the context. Third,after understanding the source text with accuracy,translators have to break the limitations of sentences to translate the text idiomatically. The conclusion is thus drawn that proper use of the knowledge of linguistics plays a positive role in literary translation.
