This paper detailedly explores Pronouns' textual and interpersonal function from the functional and pragmatic perspectives. It illustrates their referential/deictic and cohesive function, which improves the textual coherence; and their interpersonal rhetoric function, which directly or indirectly affects the textual politeness maxim. What's more, it points out that their concrete meanings are closely related to the co-text or situational context. The author confirms that such research will surely play an important role in casting a brick to attract the jade in the functional research on the other parts of speech.
