小说《阿拉比》首先强调主人公具有"日神精神",通过梦的形式呈现出现实社会的种种弊病并进而揭去虚伪道德的外衣从而直达生活的本质。之后,主人公逐渐成长为了一名具有"酒神精神"的真正艺术家:肯定哪怕是最悲惨的生活,"重估一切价值"。

The short story 'Araby' aims to emphasize that it is the boy of the 'Apollonian' who dreams the reality of his stagnant society and uncovers the puzzling layer of hypocritical morality so as to be an authentic 'Dionynian' artist who affirms even the most tragic life for total revaluation of all values.
