摘要
语音教学始于英语教育开端,但一直属于薄弱环节,其不良后果累积到大学,突出表现为数量庞大的非英语专业学生英语语音南腔北调,听说能力明显滞后于读写能力,无法充分发挥英语交际功能,偏离了语言教育的初衷。大学英语教改应当以语音为突破口,结合大学非英语专业学生的特点,开展有别于英语专业的针对性语音教学,使学生"知其然且知其所以然",摆脱盲人摸象的英语学习困境,形成自主纠音能力,促进听说能力的良性互动与循环进步。
Phonetic teaching has been underrated throughout primary and secondary schooling although started early at the beginning of English education.The adverse consequence of this ongoing neglect is most obvious among numerous non-English majors in college,whose English accents greatly undermine their listening & speaking competence and,consequently,other aspects of English learning.In this context,phonetic teaching should be highlighted as a critical domain for College English teaching reform.Characteristics of non-English majors should be kept in sight while teachers try to teach students phonetic knowledge and enable them to self correct English pronunciation and intonation.
