老水手之歌讲述了一个神秘而具有恐怖色彩的故事。一个老水手不知何故杀死了一只白头翁。他的误杀带给他自己和船员们灾难,因为他人的自私,对自然的漠视,并且不知忏悔,他们注定要受到上天的惩罚。当老人经历了一系列的可怕景象后他意识到只有忏悔才能拯救自己。当他无意识却真心为水蛇祈祷时,他的罪过得到了宽恕。当他回到自己的国家,他向同乡们一遍遍复述着他的经历并将越来越多的人心中填满真爱。

'The rime of the ancient mariner' tells us a mysterious and thrilling story about an old mariner who killed a seabird called 'albatross for an unknown reason.His wrongdoing brought disaster to the crew and himself.Because of the others' selfishness,of neglecting to the nature and knowing nothing of penance,they are doomed to be revenged by the God,while the old man went through several horrible scenes and realized that only penance could save himself.When he blessed for the water snake unconsciously with a true heart,his crime was pardoned.And when he came back to his country,he repeated his experiences to his fellowmen and transformed more and more men to fill true love into their hearts.
