Lexical Features of News English from Register Theory

语言在不同的交际场合被使用,它总是为一定的交际目的服务的,具有某种具体用途的语言变体就被称为语域。功能语言学中一个重要理论是语域理论。语域的不同主要以"词汇"方面的不同为特征。以韩礼德的语域理论为指导,分析讨论语域三个变量——语场、语旨、语式在新闻英语中的应用,对外语学习者学习新闻英语的词汇特征有重要指导作用。

Language serves for certain communication in different societies.In order to examine the realization of three variables of register in the study of news English,this paper aims to apply the register theory—(field,tenor,and mode) in Systematic Functional Linguistic to the analysis of lexical features of news English which is selected from China Daily.The register theory plays an important guiding role to foreign language learners on learning the lexical features of news English.
