Reading is a crucial tool in acquiring information and knowledge.Culture cannot be separated from language.College English reading should focus on the differences of culture.It is important to understand how to lay stress on the differences in the course of college English teaching and learning about reading for increasing students' ability of reading.This thesis analyzes the influence of culture on English reading and tries to set up a principle of teaching English through culture.This thesis centers on cultural differences between China and Western countries and how to deal with that relationship in the English reading.
