关于“浙江中医药大学”校名英译的商榷

An Exploration of C-E Translation of the Name of a Traditional Chinese Medicine University

围绕"浙江中医药大学"现用英文校名"Zhejiang Chinese Medical University"存在的问题进行分析探讨。针对现用英译的不妥之处,文中提出了三种合理的译法,分别为"Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine"、"University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Zhejiang"、"Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine University",并从跨文化视角思考我校校名英译问题,以期对中医院校校名表述起到参考作用。

The current translation 'Zhejiang Chinese Medical University' for the name of a Traditional Chinese Medicine University has aroused wide concern and heated debate.The problems that occur in English are analyzed and some translation strategies are offered.Moreover,three appropriate English translations are given.They are 'Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine','University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Zhejiang' and 'Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine University' respectively.It aims to probe into the translating of the names of TCM universities for cross-cultural use.
