The poetry of meditating the past,one of the special genres in Chinese classical poetry,conveys the deep reflection of poets on the historical events and celebrities.The paper makes a contrast between two English versions of the Blackgown Alle translated by Tangyi-he and Linyu-tsng respectively .Through analyzing the forms,the wording and the specific translations of the last two lines of the poem, the paper attempts to conclude that Lin's translation focus on the conveyance of the intrinsic charm in the original poet while Tang's translation lay emphasis on the proper treatment of cultural barriers.
