The Influence of Differences between Chinese and English Thinking Modes on English Writing

思维和语言关系密切,思维支配着语言,语言是思维的主要表现形式。该文作者从英汉思维模式的差异入手,分析了不同思维模式对英语写作中词语运用、句子结构、语篇构建三方面产生的影响,指出英语写作必须明确英汉思维模式的差异,以提高跨文化的写作能力。

Language and thinking are closely related. Thinking dominates language and language is a reflection of thinking. By analyzing the differences in the way of thinking of Chinese and English, the author points out that the differences reflected in the two languages, such as word, sentence, discourse organization, definitely affect the way of English writing. This it is considerably important in study to improve the learners' knowledge of the differences between the two languages and to improve their English writing.
