从跨文化交际角度来看公示语的英译

On the C-E Translation of Public Signs from the Perspective of Intercultural Communication

随着我国经济飞速发展,我国与世界各国交流与日剧增,公示语的使用和翻译就突显出重要意义,然而目前的公示语汉英翻译中却存在着一些问题。从跨文化交际的视角来看,翻译不仅是两种语言的转换,也是两种文化的交流。翻译工作者不仅需要有扎实的语言基础,还必须对中西文化差异有深入的认识,要照顾到英语读者的接受习惯,在具体的公示语翻译过程中应采取相应的如借译、改译和不译等处理方法。

As the increasing development of the economy in China,there are more and more communication between China and the world.Thus,the application and translation of public signs become significant.However,the present C-E translation of public signs has lots of errors.This paper aims to analyze the translation errors.From the perspective of inter-cultural communication,translation is not only a transformation of two languages,but also a communication of two cultures.The translators need to have not only the solid language foundation but also the in-depth knowledge of the differences between Chinese and western culture in order to adopt corresponding translation method like borrowing,revising and omitting in specific translation process.
