The investigation SHOWS that most of the non-English majors of higher vocational institutes don't study English actively and have a low English leve1. How to stimulate the students learning interest more effectively is a hard task for the teaching staff who goes for English. College students are into watching movies and video. Teaching English speaking and listening through movies can provide context of communication and immense input materials, and realize mutual language and culture learning. It is a very effective and also feasible way to improve students communicative proficiency.
