On the Chinese Classics Translation from Homi K. Bhabha's Cultural Translation

随着后殖民理论的兴起,霍米巴巴的理论受到了国内外学者的认可和推崇,有关研究系统且全面。中国典籍是中国传统文化的集中体现,面对当前经济全球化、文化多样化的背景下,如何进行典籍英译成为了翻译工作者们的难题。该文从霍米巴巴的文化翻译理论着手,通过其混杂等一系列颠覆策略,分析汉语典籍英译中的混杂现象,指出中国典籍该如何翻译,使中国文化走向世界,实现中西文化对等交流,达到世界文化的融合。

With the development of post-colonialism, Homi K. Bhabha's theory has been approved and valued by internal and external scholars. In addition, the researches about his theory are systematic and comprehensive. Chinese classics translation epitomizes the Chinese traditional culture. Facing the economic globalization and cultural diversity, how to do the Chinese classics translation becomes a tough problem for translators. This thesis aims at indicating how to do the Chinese classics translation by analysing the hybidity in Chinese classics translation according to Homi K. Bhabha's Cultural Translation and its strategies of hybridity and the third space. In this way, Chinese culture can open to the world and realize the equal communication between the East and the West.
