Non-lingual Barriers in Cross-cultural Communication

面对跨文化交际中的种种障碍,人们普遍认为语言是产生这道屏障的主要根源;然而,从根本上讲,东西方跨文化交际的鸿沟往往来源于一些非语言因素。因此,文章将以非语言因素为切入点,层层深入地分析非语言因素对东西方跨文化交际造成的障碍,从而有利于参与交际的双方跨越文化的屏障,与来自异质文化环境的人们自如地沟通。

In the face of various barriers in the cross-cultural communication, it is universally accepted that language is the root cause of the barriers; however, non-lingual factors also bring about barriers in the cross-cultural communication by nature. Therefore, the paper is to start with non-lingual factors, and analyze the barriers caused by those factors in the cross-cultural communication, in order to encourage people from different cultures to conquer the barriers and communicate in a smooth way.
