Critical Discourses during Seventeen-year Period and Translated “Red Classics”

1949年到1966年的17年是当代中国一个十分特殊的历史阶段。翻译与翻译批评不仅受到主流政治意识形态的控制,同时也强化了主流意识形态。作为统一赞助系统的国家政治意识形态、出版发行机构和其引导规范下的读者批评,合力将苏联的一些革命作品引入成为"红色经典"译作。这些翻译作品在影响整整几代人的同时,也揭示了文化产品、规范,甚至文学典范的建构性。

The years from 1949 to 1966 were a peculiar period in modem China, daring which translations and translation criticism were strictly controlled by, and at the same time, were substantially strengthening the dominant ideology. As undifferentiated patrona- ges, the political ideology of the country, the publishing houses and the guided response of the audience joint forces in introducing some of the Soviet revolutionary works as translated ＂Red Cassics.＂ These works revealed that the cultural products, the norms and even the canons were contextually constructed and defined when they had exerted considerable influ- ence on generations of the Chinese people.
