Place-making and Pluralistic Development of Public Art

本文探讨了地方重塑与公共艺术的关系,指出地方重塑是公共艺术的出发点与归宿,公共艺术是用艺术语言和方式解决公共问题的特有创作方式,而地方发展过程中遇到的诸多问题也给公共艺术带来了巨大的发挥作用的空间。此外,通过国际公共艺术奖的部分案例分析,论述了公共艺术的公共性、在地性、艺术性三个基本属性与多元发展的关系,指出了多元的评价标准是公共艺术健康发展的推手。

The article discussed the relationship between place-making and public Art. Place-making is what public art＇s starting point and end-result to provide special way of creative solution of public issues through art languages and expression. Public art is now facing the tremendous opportunities in the development process of place-making by providing the solutions. The case studies of International Award for Public Art will also help to analyze the connection of three elements of public art and pluralistic development（three elements： publicity, site-specific and artistry）,pointing out that diverse evaluation criteria are what make healthy development of public art.
