摘要
本文从原始计数符号、数字符号和代数几何符号等三个方面叙述了古代数学符号的发展与演变,认为原始计数符号对数学的发展比计数技巧具有更基本、更重要的作用;这一时期形成了大体完善的数字符号系统,代数几何领域只是不成系统地出现了一些缩写和象形符号。
This paper discusses the evolvement of the ancient mathematcal symbles in the light of the primitive count symbles, numerical symbles, and algebraical and geometrical symbles, leading to the conclution that the primitive count symbles have a more basic and important function than that of techniques of count numbers, and that though at that time, foundemental system of numerical symbles had been formed, only a few abbreviated and pictographic symbles were expressed unsystematically in the algebraical and geometrical domains.
