Living Epic Gesar:Great Expectations under the Condition of Cooperation between Chinese and Foreign Scholars

中国社会科学院民族文学研究所研究员杨恩洪,长期从事藏族英雄史诗《格萨尔》及其说唱艺人的研究、藏族妇女口述历史研究等。杨恩洪阐释了《格萨尔》的学术价值和国外学界的研究状况,对外语专业师生的《格萨尔》研究、《格萨尔》复译、《格萨尔》学以及藏族文化传播都有着积极的作用和深远的影响。

Yang En - hong,full professor of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, has engaged in studieson Gesar epic and its bards as well as oral history dictated by Tibetan women and so on for manyyears. Prof. Yang highlights the academic value of Gesar and its status quo of foreign academia, whichbenefits teachers and students majoring in foreign languages in regard to epic studies and contributes alot to its retranslation. Besides, it exerts a positive and deep impact on the studies of Gesar and thetransmission of Tibetan culture.
