Exploration and Suggestion for Accelerating Potato as Staple Food in Enshi Autonomous Prefecture

马铃薯是恩施州第一大农作物,常年种植面积在126 667 hm^2以上,占湖北省马铃薯种植面积的一半以上;恩施州在国家《马铃薯优势区域布局规划》中被列入西南鲜食用、加工用和种用马铃薯优势区。随着国家提出启动马铃薯主粮化发展战略,恩施州立足自身资源、科技及品牌等优势,以加快马铃薯全产业链建设为重点,在湖北省率先试点推进马铃薯主粮化,发展势头十分强劲。

Potato is the first-largest crop in Enshi Autonomous Prefecture. Its planting area is more than 126 667 ha,accounting for more than half of the potato production area in Hubei Province. In national Potato Advantageous Regional Layout Planning, Enshi Autonomous Prefecture is classified as a competitive production area for table potatoes, processing potatoes, and seed potatoes in western China. As the strategy of developing potato as the staple food was put forward and started in China, Enshi Autonomous Prefecture, based on such advantages as its own natural resources, science and technology, and brand, and in view of the whole potato industry chain, takes the lead in accelerating potato as staple food in Hubei Province, and developmental momentum is more powerful.
