On Hardy's Ecological Holism Thought——Taking The Return of the Native as an Example

从生态主义视角对哈代《还乡》研究发现:小说充满"悲"的氛围主要源于人与代表自然的埃顿荒原的格格不入,作者用荒原的意志控制人的越轨行为,制造出尖锐的矛盾和浓郁的悲剧氛围,其中隐含了作者的生态整体思想。

Studies based on the ecological theory on Hardy＇s The Return of the Native show that its sorrowful atmosphere came from the misfits between humans and the natural Eyton wasteland and the author used the will of the wasteland to control people＇s deviant behaviors to create sharp contradictions and strong tragic atmosphere,which implied his ecological holism thought.
