OBJECTIVE To explore the road of disciplinary development of healthcare-associated infection（HAI）management with Chinese characteristics.The current situation of development of science of HAI management in developed countries and China over the past 30 years was analyzed,and the characteristics and development trend of the science of HAI management in China were observed.The disciplinary development of HAI management was rapid,the connotation of HAI management was basically clear,and the disciplinary development of HAI management displayed the Chinese characteristics.The subject of HAI management has a clear connotation,the subject of HAI management in China has initially formed an emerging interdisciplinary with dual functions of management and business,and it is of broad prospects for development.
