Preliminary Study on the Single Edged Copper Knife in Early Gansu

甘肃单刃铜刀出现年代早、沿用时间长,在发展中不断涌现出新的形制,环首刀在距今3700年前后出现在河西走廊地区,对周边地区环首刀的出现产生了一定影响。甘肃单刃铜刀的流行,是对这一区域自新石器时代以来形成的石刃骨刀使用传统的继承和发展。

Single blade bronze knives had emerged earlier and been used for longer period in Gansu province. More- over, new types had constantly sprung up during its development. Ring-pommel？knives first appeared in the Hexi corridor region around 3700 years ago, had influenced the emergence of Ring-pommel？knives in surrounding regions. The prevailing of Single blade bronze knives in Gansu province was the inheritance and development of the local tradition of stone osteotome blades which had been formed since the Neolithic Age.
