A Study on Kouang Tchéou Wan from Perspective of Ancient Port History

广州湾的名称最早出现在明代嘉靖年间的方志和图经上,是以渡口形式展示给世人的,它的频频出现与海防密切相关。广州湾自唐初以来就是海上丝绸之路的重要节点,它的前身是"九州湾",陆名沿革于九州岛,"九州岛石"作为"广州通海夷道"的航海地标至今已有1300多年。广州湾坊都由于百年前法人设立了引导灯桩,新中国湛江商港建港时予以修复,至今仍在发挥重要的海上导航作用。

The name Kouang Teh6ou Wan appeared earliest in the map and the legends in Jiajing peri- od of the Ming Dynasty, frequently as an ancient port closely related to coastal defense. Since the early Tang Dynasty, Kouang Tch6ou Wan has been acting as an important node of the maritime Silk Road. Its former name ＂Kyushu Bay＂ is related to Kyushu Island where the Kyushu Island stone has been 1300 years as the navigation landmark, and the lamp pile, set by French a hundred years ago and repaired in the new China Zhanjiang commercial port period, is still playing an important role in navigation.
