During manufacture process, air-tight test on steel pipe is an importance method to make sure its quality. The con- struction composition and functions of air-tight tester of steel pipe and automatic loading ＆ unloading mechanism were introduced. The detecting system had stable performance and easy operation method, could effectively improve the automation level of detecting, and reduce the labor intensity of the operator. The on site tests show that the design of the system is rational and reliable in performance.
