Objective To investigete the prevention effect of dexmedetomidine on agitation in awakening period after pediatric sevoflurane anesthesia. Methods A total of 70 cases of children underwent tonsillitis and adenoid hypertrophy resection were selected from January 2014 to October 2016 in Sheyang County People' s Hospital, which were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table,35 cases in each group. All children were given inhalation sevoflurane induced anesthesia, during surgery, control group was given 0. 9% sodium chloride solution, observation group was given dexmedetomidine hydrochloride injection. The RSAS scores in awakening period and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results During the awakening period, the observation group of RSAS scores and adverse reactions rate were lower than control group( P〈0. 05). Conclusion Dexmedetomidine has the function of prevention and control on agitation in awakening period after pediatric sevoflurane anesthesia, and it is safe and reliable.
