杨蟠是北宋初中期一位杰出的诗人。其现存诗歌多为描写自然山水、地方风貌的风物诗。这类诗歌主要有三种类型:自然山水类、人文建筑类和风俗人情类。这些诗歌思想内涵丰富,表现了诗人崇尚自然的心态和闲适的心境,以及忧国忧民的仁者之心。从艺术特色方面来看,诗风清新冲淡,意境高远,语言自然明快,情感表达富有张力,诗律严谨,格调高逸。其诗艺完全可与同时期的"苏梅"相媲美,是宋诗古淡之风的开创者之一。

As the famous poet in the early and middle period of the Northern Song dynasty, Yang Panleft scenery poems forlater generations which are mainly divided into three kinds involving natural landscape, architecture and customs. With rich connotations, the poems show the leisure ideology and benevolence for the country and people from the poet. Artistically, the style of the poems is elegant with bright and brief language and emotional expression. Comparable with Su Shi and Mei Yaochen, Yang Pan was also one of the beginners with the primitive and plain poetic styles.
