摘要
This anthology presents a collection of highly original and cutting-edge works about the diverse queer/"tongzhi" communities in China. Written by well-known and emerging queer scholars, activists, and media producers, the topics include media representation, queer filmmaking, film festivals, digital video activism, community activism, love web literature, and queer performances in Chinese pop. The chapters were written in both English and Chinese (with translation) by writers with diverse disciplinary backgrounds. The two editors have done an outstanding job of bringing together studies that are well grounded in the Chinese tongzhi community. With a deep commitment to queer activism, they engage in critical theoretical dialogues between queer practices in China and global queer theory and activism.
