In the last half century, Northrop Frye＇s Canadian literary criticism cross-references his encyclopedic literary theory thoughts, orients Canadian modern imagination with his brilliant views of the whole western theory, and identifies the extension between the ＂native＂ and the ＂world＂ as the important content of Canadian modern tradition. It is a great achievement for Canadian modern literature movement. Thus this essay will start from the opinions of the ＂native＂ and the ＂world＂ in Frye＇s Canadian literary criticism, expound the sense of ＂ myth＂ behind it and respond to some misunderstandings and questions from later critics and theorists home and abroad.
